I can totally relate to this. A good meal, home cooked preferably is an ideal way to get someone to fall for you. I like to do the whole candlelight dinner with wine glasses full of soda and a spaghetti dinner. I'm a cheap date.
The way to my heart is more through my ears than through my stomach though. I love taking a date to a concert or a little slow dancing on the beach.
That's romantic.
